WATER AND SANITATION

ADDITIONAL
INFORMATION

South Africa is facing an enormous challenge in delivering water and sanitation services as a result of insufficient water infrastructure maintenance, recurrent droughts, inequities in access to water and sanitation; deteriorating water quality, etc.

Daveng was appointed by several municipalities for evaluating resources as well as designing and implementing pipelines, pump stations and water treatment works. The company also performs the design and implementation of low-cost sanitation, sewer pipelines, pump stations and sewerage treatment works. Daveng has been appointed by the City of Cape Town (CoCT) to provide design, documentation, procurement and contract supervision of numerous water and sanitation projects.

We were instrumental in the construction of a 1000mmØ ductile iron bulk water pipeline from the Contermanskloof reservoir on the eastern side of the N7 to provide water to the Parklands community.

In the Penhill area in Eerste River, the community was still making use of conservancy tanks as sewage disposal. Daveng played a vital role in alleviating this problem by constructing a 315mmØ uPVC pipeline of approximately 10 800m in length.
